If you are in Manila right now joining / checking the MOS Philippines and want to check more art, the exhibition "Pasarlubong" featuring Singapore based graffiti writers and street artists started today at Post Gallery Cubao Expo in Manila as well. You may consider to check this also if you want to take a break or find shade, hiding from the sun. Otherwise, the show will last for a month.
PASARLUBONG
PASAR - Market. ( Malay)
Used extensively in the countries of the Malay Archipelago - Borneo, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Southern Thailand
SALUBONG - Welcome; Reception ( Tagalog)
An amalgamation of the malay word Pasar and the Tagalog word Salubong, this exhibition presented by POST Gallery (Manila) and organised by RSCLS (SG) showcases artworks solely from Singapore-based graffiti writers and street artists, for the first time in Manila. Aptly exhibited in the legendary Cubao Expo, the bastion and “pasar" of urban subculture in Metro Manila, the exhibition welcomes the visual identity of Singapore seen through the nuanced gaze of its graffiti writers and street artists whom are often caught between the paradox of being in Singapore and the culture they chose to keep close to their hearts.
